An announcement for Christmas, a scholarship and first snow.
Hey,
It's been a while since I posted about anything that actually relates to my day to day goings on.
So first announcement is that I'm just about to freeze my ass off. It's heading hard and unavoidably into winter and my one winter jacket is getting the threads worked out of them.
I've seen the first snow of the winter and I got excited like a little kid (the excitement wore off in about 20 seconds though). And I'm somehow I guess I'll have to find time and money (of my ever decreasing budget, although I'm going to talk about that later).
The other thing is that I won't be able to make it back to Sydney for Christmas. I've submitted a paper to SPSP and they're accepted it. So, I'll be giving a presentation in Memphis, Tennessee (yee haw!), on January, 25-27. After that, I'll be spending a few days in LA between trasfers and hopefully hitting Newport Beach and a certain frozen banana stand.
Unfortunately, that's going to milk money faster from by rather fresh bank account faster than... faster than I get drunk on cheap vodka (trust me, it makes sense if you've ever seen me drink - singular). Hence, I can't afford to come to Sydney as well.
Bummer (maybe not).
On the upside, SPSP (the most prestigious and largest social and personality conference in the world) has seen fit to send a $500 dollar (US dollars, by the by) scholarship to me. But the thing is, the cheque is only going to pay for about a quarter of the airfare, let alone the accomodation and food and registration fee and all the Elvis junk I'm gonna pick up (there'll be a 10,000 won project there...).
The other thing I'm gonna do is to eat as much artery-busting junk food as possible because I'm just really curious as to how people can get so fat. A mini 'Supersize Me' if you will.
So until next time,
Daisung.
